About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Social Worker to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to veterans with a range of mental health issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each veteran, including those with complex medical and psychosocial issues.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and work with veterans to develop coping strategies and improve their overall well-being.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss veteran care and develop strategies to improve services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Current state licensure or certification as a social worker.
  • At least two years of experience as a social worker, with a minimum of one year at the GS-11 level.
  • Advanced practice skills and judgment, including the ability to work with complex cases and develop effective treatment plans.
