The Baggage Service Coordinator is primarily tasked with assisting passengers with their baggage inquiries, especially in instances of lost, delayed, or damaged luggage. You will address inquiries and concerns, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction. This position requires maintaining precise records of baggage handling incidents and collaborating with various airport departments to track and recover luggage. You will also play a vital role in upholding the company's service standards and adhering to airport security and safety protocols.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A BAGGAGE SERVICE COORDINATOR
- Collaborate as a team towards shared objectives
- Engage with internal and external customers globally
- Oversee the daily operations of the baggage service office
- Address passenger inquiries regarding baggage mishandling and service concerns
- Ensure effective processing of baggage claims
- Coordinate with airlines and baggage handling teams for luggage tracking
- Maintain accurate records of baggage-related incidents and resolutions
- Deliver exceptional customer service in resolving baggage issues
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Enjoy working collaboratively or independently to achieve tasks
- Exhibit strong customer service abilities
- Build lasting relationships with customers
- Physical requirements may include:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken communication and audible alarms in the terminal environment
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area while focused on a specific point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including documents
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and tablets
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal, as applicable)
