Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students, focusing on Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical literacy among students.
    • Cultivate a love for mathematics among students, promoting confidence and meaningful engagement with the subject.
    • Work collaboratively with the Math department to determine academic and engagement goals for students.
  • Data Analysis
    • Analyze student work samples and assessments to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in the classroom.
  • School Culture
    • Build positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel seen, loved, and heard.
    • Partner with students' families to provide support and resources for their child's learning needs.
    • Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions to enhance teaching skills.
    • Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model core values, and encourage student achievement.
    • Collaborate with the grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.

  • Required Experience:
    • A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years of experience preferred).
    • Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
    • Prior to the start of employment, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Certification is not necessary for hiring, but you must meet NY state certification eligibility requirements.
