Mortgage Loan Originator Job Description

FBC Mortgage, LLC is seeking a seasoned Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining a quality network of business relationships to generate new mortgage lending opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and develop business relationships with realtors, builders, and other professionals to generate referrals.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, community efforts, and professional organizations to promote home ownership.
  • Interview customers to determine their financial needs and advise them on appropriate products, terms, and pricing.
  • Navigate borrowers through the loan process, gathering required information through clear and timely communication.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant loan documentation, maintaining industry regulations.
  • Meet sales goals and objectives while following established procedures.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of retail residential mortgage origination experience.
  • Documented residential mortgage loans closed volume of $750,000 - $1 million per month in production.
  • Established relationships with local referral networks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in product guidelines for Conventional, FHA, and VA loans.
  • Strong PC skills and experience with laptop technology.
  • Compliance with SAFE Act requirements, including background checks and NMLS licensure.
