Ochsner Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing expert radiation physics support for the treatment of cancer and other diseases requiring radiation therapy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians and therapists to develop and implement individualized radiation treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive dosimetry calculations and simulations, verifying the accuracy of prescribed doses and treatment delivery.
- Oversee the quality control and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and simulators, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Participate in research initiatives and contribute to the advancement of radiation oncology techniques and technologies.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical medical physics, with documented experience conducting CT performance evaluations under the supervision of a board-certified medical physicist.
- Board eligibility or certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) is required.
