Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Leader to join our team as a District Health Director at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our district health office and ensuring the delivery of high-quality public health services to our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve public health outcomes and advance the mission of the Georgia Department of Public Health.
  • Manage District Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the district health office, including budgeting, personnel management, and program development.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to advance public health goals.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all district health office activities are in compliance with state and federal regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Monitor Health Status: Oversee the collection and analysis of health data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Related Field: A master's degree in public health or a related field is required. A doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Experience in Public Health Management: A minimum of 2 years of experience in public health management is required. Experience in healthcare administration is preferred.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead teams.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
