Benefit and Eligibility Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefit and Eligibility Worker to join our team at the Oregon Department of Human Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining eligibility for individuals and families in need of medical, food, cash, and childcare benefits.
About the Role
- Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and periodic reviews in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct interviews with applicants to assess their needs and determine eligibility.
- Communicate eligibility decisions to applicants in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach to ensure the well-being of our clients.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in determining eligibility for an agency program, including interviewing clients and interpreting policies and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
