Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care that is guided by the American Nurses Association (ANA) scope of practice. You will collaborate with patients, family/significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the delivery of healthcare services to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes patient assessment and reassessment as clinically indicated.
  • Documents detailed information incorporating the plan of care, interventions, and outcomes reflecting the patient's physical, mental, and emotional status.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation based on the level of care the patient is receiving to include transfer/discharge documentation as indicated.
  • Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care, including the delegation of tasks.
  • Actively works to promote a culture of safety.
  • Assesses learning needs of patient/family/significant other and plans and provides appropriate instruction using applicable teaching methods.
  • Cares for specific patient populations, despite location, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Level Degree (required) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Current and unobstructed New York State Registered Nurse (NY Hospitals) license.
  • Current and unobstructed Connecticut Registered Nurse License (CT Hospitals).
  • American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification Preferred.
