RN Charge Nurse Job Description

Job Summary:

The RN Charge Nurse will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This position requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can lead and manage a team of caregivers to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans that promote the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.
  • Conduct regular rounds to observe, assess, document, and report resident condition/changes.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure the implementation of care plans as directed.
  • Perform narcotic reconciliation with incoming and outgoing shifts and identify significant changes in the condition of residents.
  • Oversee and monitor aides, initiate and complete Incident and Accident Reports, and discharge residents per facility policy.
  • Communicate with resident's point of contact and complete Nursing Assessment for Physician Calls prior to calling physician on any change in resident condition.

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse in the state of Texas in good standing.
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
