About the Opportunity

Join the Detroit Medical Center as a Clinical Coordinator, MedSurg. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and support a team of nursing professionals in delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating patient care. As a leader on the MedSurg unit, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to problem-solve system and unit-based issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume shift responsibilities for the care delivery team, ensuring adequate nurse-patient ratios and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with the manager to monitor staffing schedules and make adjustments as needed.
  • Facilitate shared decision-making among staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.
  • Provide in-service programs to enhance staff competence and maintain or improve patient care outcomes.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan.
  • One to two years of progressively more responsible experience in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and facilitate processes.
