About the Role

As a key member of the Cavco Industries, Inc. team, the Production Manager plays a vital role in overseeing plant production and ensuring the construction of high-quality products for our customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and continuously improving production processes across the plant and various departments to meet client quality and production targets. This includes process mapping, reengineering, quality assurance, staffing, metrics, risk identification, and overseeing the training and development of production supervisors, team leads, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment for production employees and maintain open communication with plant operations manager and general manager regarding safety concerns and production goals.
  • Strategically manage the workforce, including hiring, firing, and promotions, to optimize production efficiency.
  • Oversee supervisors to ensure accurate execution of work orders and efficient assembly.
  • Plan and forecast production goals, staffing, and resource needs to meet customer demands.
  • Coordinate with supervisors on attendance and staffing requirements to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of tools and machinery to prevent equipment failures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the production team.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving lifting, gripping, bending, and other physical activities.
  • College degree preferred but not mandatory with relevant work experience.
  • Proven leadership skills to lead multiple teams to achieve production goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide direction and support to staff.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work and using tools daily.
