Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain frequent communication with the Consulting Medical Director (CMD) and WorkCare Supervisor regarding all clinic issues and client requests.
  • Maintain medical records and Private Health Information following all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Support Medical Surveillance exams such as audiograms, vision tests, pulmonary function, respirator fit testing, and DOT testing requirements, as needed for purposes of interpretation of test/exam results.
  • Provide first aid, medical treatment, and appropriate follow-ups for work-related injuries and/or illnesses as time allows beyond medical surveillance needs.
  • Provide emergency medical response, as needed.
  • Perform effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences.
  • Perform employee health screenings and surveillance programs, including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams, and substance abuse screenings.
  • Provide return-to-work clearance exams, as appropriate.
  • Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information.
  • May review work-related injury and illness management protocols annually and when regulations change.
  • As appropriate, assists in developing and maintaining programs for AED, medical surveillance, hearing conservation, health and wellness, ergonomics, and other implemented programs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with management, medical, and safety personnel, co-workers, and WorkCare supervisors.
  • Provides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by PG&E, WorkCare, and by law.
  • Expedites injury information to PG&E management and insurance companies, as directed.
  • Provides additional services, as directed by the WorkCare CMD or Director of Onsite Clinic Operations.
  • Utilizes the Cority system for record keeping.
  • Gains first-hand familiarity with site conditions through systematic inspections of the workplace and observations of tasks involving potential exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
  • Works with environmental health and safety departments to provide guidance in developing, implementing, and managing workplace hazard control programs.
  • Conducts work-site visits, consultations with other site-specific health and safety professionals, and participates in key committees involving occupational health issues.
  • Attends PG&E claim review meetings, when requested, with workers' compensation adjustors and health and safety staff, as appropriate.
  • Assists with conducting physicals twice a year for PG&E Humboldt Bay power plant located in Eureka, CA.
Requirements:
  • Current Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in the state of California required.
  • Must be certified by NCCPA.
  • Must have current DEA license, current ACLS/BLS certification.
  • Must have bachelor's degree with at least two years of NP experience preferred.
  • NIOSH and CAOHC certifications.
