Job Description

As a Product Designer at Lifesize, you'll focus on crafting the user experience and UI for our award-winning mobile, Web, and desktop apps, as well as high-end video conferencing phones and cameras.

You'll collaborate with our team to translate concepts, ideas, and requirements into elegant visuals, intuitive interactions, and meaningful motion.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with project teams to craft experiences and user interfaces that delight users and fulfill business goals.
  2. Work autonomously to solve open-ended problems and collaboratively with team members on enhancements to large-scale design improvements for our products.
  3. Build design assets, specs, wireframes, flow diagrams, and guidelines to communicate your design direction to stakeholders and implementation teams.
  4. Use and contribute to our existing design system and evangelize atomic design principles.
  5. Communicate your decision-making rationale with confidence and receive constructive critique and art direction with a respectful, patient style.
  6. Find creative ways to incorporate feedback from team members, stakeholders, and usability testing to improve and refine your design ideas.
  7. Learn and become an expert user of Lifesize video conferencing products.
Skills Required
  1. Expertise in infusing life into designs and communicating how they fit into a larger product design vision.
  2. Lovely iterating through creative options before narrowing down to the strongest solutions, and explaining your thought process and design rationale.
  3. Strong skills in at least two of the following areas: designing pixel-perfect user interfaces, creating meaningful UI animations, demonstrating ideas through prototypes, writing user-facing copy, transforming complex tasks into intuitive flows, conducting research, applying art direction skills, creating reusable creative assets, and having a working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Qualifications
  1. 4+ years of experience in user experience or visual design of product UIs.
  2. BA or BFA in a relevant field, or equivalent number of years of relevant experience.
  3. An online portfolio that showcases your design experience, especially your shipped products.
  4. Able to juggle multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to understand and reconcile complex, interdependent, and occasionally competing requirements.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of software product lifecycle and experience working in a collaborative agile/Lean environment preferred.
  7. Experience designing products for a global audience preferred.
  8. Confident in applying best practices and established design patterns to common design problems.
  9. Intellectual curiosity, an attitude of continuous improvement, and an eye for detail.
