Duties and Responsibilities

As a Cashier at Gringo's Mexican Kitchen, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. Your duties will include:

  • Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant services
  • Prepare final bills, present checks to guests, accept payment, and process credit card charges or make change
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by management
  • Monitor guests' dining experience to ensure they are satisfied with the food and service
  • Respond promptly and courteously to requests and communicate guest feedback to managers
  • Help maintain restaurant cleanliness
  • Follow the closing checklist to close the restaurant properly
  • Attend all scheduled team member meetings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous restaurant experience is optional but preferred
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members
  • Ability to add and subtract two and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
  • Food Handler Certification is required
Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 60 pounds
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
  • Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication
  • Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word
  • Consistent clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
