Responsibilities

The Pediatric Clinical Geneticist will:

  • Conduct evaluations and provide treatment to patients utilizing advanced medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Coordinate discharge planning in collaboration with case management.
  • Engage in efforts to enhance cost-effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Accept referrals from other medical professionals and serve as the attending physician for hospitalized patients as necessary.
  • Participate in academic initiatives, including medical education and research.
  • Ensure documentation meets insurance requirements and manage appeals for any denials.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty care, including on-call duties.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification: Must hold a Physician MD/DO credential from the Texas Medical Board.

Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) is required.
