Job Title: Assistant Therapeutic Childcare Teacher

Job Summary:

Lifeline Connections is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Therapeutic Childcare Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our childcare program, you will provide supportive care and education to children in a therapeutic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in providing instructional support to children and implementing developmentally appropriate programs.
  • Assess, monitor, and plan for children's developmental growth.
  • Provide a sense of safety and stability for children, while maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Implement consistent positive behavior management and manage a group of up to 10 children with regular scheduled oversight.
  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate learning and recreational activities influenced by their interests.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate files, completing paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with Washington State Administrative Codes (WACs) and Revised Codes of Washington (RCWs) and federal regulations pertaining to chemical dependency treatment, early childhood education, and the management of personal health information.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
  • Must have MERIT account and initial STARS training completed.
  • Minimum of an ECE initial certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by the department within five years of August 1, 2019, or from being employed or promoted to this position.
  • Willingness and ability to act as lead teacher for up to 2 weeks at any point in employment.
  • Paid experience teaching children ages birth-5.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Food Handler's Permit.
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Environment:

Working hours are spent indoors in offices or other meeting rooms. Supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities will be required.
