Maryland Institute College of Art is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Data Analytics and Visualization courses. The successful candidate will have expertise in data analysis and visualization, as well as experience in teaching and mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Data Analytics and Visualization courses to graduate students, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
- Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Provide feedback and guidance to students on their work, including written and oral feedback.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting diversity and equity in the classroom.
- Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
- Master's degree in a related field, such as Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis and visualization, including teaching and mentoring students.
- Expertise in data visualization tools, such as R, Tableau, Python, and D3.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ph.D. in a related field.
- 10 years of experience in data analysis and visualization, including teaching and mentoring students.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction and student support. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
