The Nursing Coordinator for Clinical Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing both clinical and administrative operations within the designated unit during assigned shifts. This position acts as a key resource for nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, the coordinator directs, monitors, and assesses patient care in alignment with nursing leadership directives.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:00pm-7:30am

Program Focus: Adolescent Mental Health Recovery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient safety and advocate for patients and their families while demonstrating expertise in the seclusion and restraint protocols.
  • Engage with patients and staff to address compliance challenges, consistently providing support throughout the treatment process.
  • Supervise staff to maintain an efficient, safe, and productive work environment, including the delegation of assignments.
  • Offer coaching and support to staff under the guidance of nursing leadership.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new hires, providing necessary direction and mentorship.
  • Assist with patient admission and discharge processes to promote efficient throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in the continuous evaluation of patient care quality in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Identify and implement program improvements and unit metrics based on feedback from patients and staff, as well as performance improvement indicators.
  • Support facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including rounding and incident reporting.
  • Assist in staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in accordance with patient care requirements and productivity standards.
  • Oversee inventory management and assist in the procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of departmental processes and participating in committees or task forces as designated by management.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in behavioral health is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role, such as team lead or preceptor, is preferred.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required within the first month of employment, with annual re-certification.
  • Formal training in managing aggressive patients is required within the first two months of employment, with annual re-certification.
