About the RoleAs a Propulsion Engineer, you'll take ownership of the design, analysis, implementation, and operation of propulsion system hardware for advanced spacecraft. You'll work within a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and efficient propulsion systems from clean-sheet designs. This is an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of a dynamic engineering team and make an impact on the future of space exploration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of propulsion systems for spacecraft, including fluids, mechanical, electrical, and controls aspects.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure efficient delivery of propulsion systems.
- Manage communication and interface with external customers to ensure mission objectives are met.
- Conduct design reviews and analyses to verify that propulsion hardware meets performance and functional requirements.
- Plan, prepare, and execute system validation testing to ensure the success of propulsion systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with creative and innovative solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field.
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace propulsion or a related area.
- Strong understanding of the principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, design, fabricate, and test aerospace hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and work effectively in small, collaborative teams.
- Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience working on all phases of spacecraft propulsion systems.
- Familiarity with spaceflight propulsion standards, including NASA and DoD specifications.
- Experience working in a startup environment.
