We are looking for a dedicated full-time Material Handler for our 2nd Shift operations. The working hours are from 1 pm until completion, Monday through Friday.
Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Material Handler is responsible for checking, storing, and organizing materials within the warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities: The following tasks are typical for this role; however, employees may be required to perform additional related duties:
- Transport materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated locations.
- Sort and position materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins based on a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code.
- Restock materials in assigned bin locations or fulfill requisitions for materials and distribute items to designated delivery vehicles.
- Bundle and band materials together, package orders for shipping, and prepare items for pick-up or truck delivery.
- Measure, cut, and package materials as needed.
- Complete necessary Material Movement documentation.
- Open boxes, crates, and other containers to access materials.
- Inspect stock for deterioration and defects, reporting any findings.
- Assist in conducting physical inventory counts.
- Perform daily inspections of the Raymond fork lift for damages and report any issues.
- Load and operate Raymond fork-lifts; prepare trucks for next-day deliveries.
- Maintain organization in the warehouse and work area at all times.
- Adhere to Company and OSHA policies; participate in safety and accident prevention meetings.
- Utilize safety equipment consistently.
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks as required.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
- Fork lift experience is advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Basic mathematical skills are required.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday is essential.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 lbs.; climb, crawl, and stoop to reach materials; bend at the waist, kneel or crouch for extended periods; and reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
