General Services Technician

About the Position

This is a unique opportunity to join the Southern Methodist University team as a General Services Technician. As a member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive trucks and operate light equipment to support campus events and daily operations.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including set-ups, tear-downs, and routine pickups and deliveries.
  • Operate tractors, forklifts, and other equipment to move materials and supplies.
  • Inspect and perform pressure-washing as needed.
  • Manage CMMS duties and perform related work as required.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one to two years of work experience is preferred, with experience in a related field or trade.
  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to use small power tools and operate trucks up to 3-tons.
  • Candidate must have a clean driving history and possess a TX Class B Commercial Driver's License.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to sit for long periods, bend, crawl, squat, and climb. The candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull heavy objects.
