Employment Type: Part-Time
Work Schedule: This role requires a commitment of ten (10) to twenty (20) hours per week, including evenings and weekends, contingent upon event schedules.
This is a temporary position that does not offer benefits.
Primary Purpose: To support video production for the Pacific Athletic Departments, including the live streaming of events on The W.tv.
Key Responsibilities:
- Camera Operation: Capture live action during athletic events, following directions and ensuring high-quality video output. Responsible for the setup and dismantling of broadcast equipment.
- Graphics Management: Operate the scoreboard during live events.
- Audio Management: Monitor and adjust audio levels for announcers, crowd noise, and external audio sources.
- Replay Coordination: Prepare to replay significant moments from the event as directed.
- Directing: Oversee live streams to The W.tv, directing camera operators and ensuring the safe setup and teardown of equipment. Coordinate with the broadcast team during timeouts and breaks.
- On-Air Presentation: Serve as an announcer for events on The W.tv.
- Post-Production: Edit highlight reels for upload to the Pacific Tigers website.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Background in communication or media.
- Familiarity with sound and video equipment functionality and camera angles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least six months of experience with video and sound equipment.
- Skills in graphics, videography, and audio mixing.
- Creative, outgoing personality with the ability to improvise.
- Strong multitasking and planning abilities.
- Willingness to collaborate effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements: This role may involve heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment: This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, based on event needs.
