Job Summary

The Distinctive Hospitality Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Bartender to join our team at The Wharf Restaurant, a premier waterfront dining establishment located in Madison, Connecticut. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for leading the creation and growth of our bar and craft cocktail program, training a team of bar staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a unique and creative craft cocktail program that aligns with our brand's vision and values
  • Train and mentor bar staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service and create signature drinks
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for craft cocktails and a commitment to quality and excellence
  • Collaborate with management to establish and enforce service and productivity standards, ensuring a safe and high-quality environment for customers
  • Assist in developing and maintaining our beverage program, including cocktails, wine lists, and beer lists
  • Model and train all standards of quality and production related to bar/lounge staff, ensuring proper par levels and inventories are maintained

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time bartending experience
  • Preferred: minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in food and beverage operations, in conjunction with bartending experience
  • TIPS Certification required, TIPS proctor preferred or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days
  • Servsafe Food Handlers Card preferred
