Ranch Caretaker

The Odessa College Rodeo Ranch is seeking a skilled and experienced Ranch Caretaker to join our team. As the primary caretaker and laborer, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, habitability, and safety of the Graham Center, a 120-acre livestock and farm operation.

• Maintain and upkeep of ranch buildings, barns, fences, and equipment
• Perform painting and janitorial tasks
• Maintain and upkeep of pastures, paddocks, pens, and other outdoor areas
• Rake, clean, and irrigate pastures and outdoor areas
• Maintain Graham Center vehicles and equipment
• Prepare fields for spring and fall planting, plant pastures, and fertilize
• Cut and bale hay on a schedule agreed upon with the ranch manager
• Transport hay from fields to barn
• Observe livestock for illness or injury and report any abnormalities to Physical Plant and/or veterinarian
• Supervise and conduct feeding of all livestock
• Maintain livestock watering equipment in good working order

• Valid driver's license
• Knowledge of livestock and farming practices
• Operation of power tools and machinery
• Self-starter

The Ranch Caretaker will work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
