Position Overview
  • The Vascular Sonographer is responsible for conducting professional assessments and a range of non-invasive examinations utilizing ultrasound and associated diagnostic technologies.
  • Outcomes from these evaluations are crucial in guiding patient treatment plans.
  • This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of peripheral vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Utilize advanced equipment to assess complex vascular conditions in both arterial and venous studies.
  • Engage in the routine upkeep and management of diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct examinations in various settings, including clinics and hospitals, using both stationary and portable devices.
  • Provide preliminary findings of examination results to referring medical professionals.
  • Maintain daily interactions with healthcare professionals and patients' families.
  • Address and resolve issues related to patient care, departmental needs, and documentation standards with professionalism.
  • Act as a clinical instructor for the UW School of Ultrasound.
  • Contribute to the education of fellows, residents, and visiting medical staff.
  • Potential involvement in clinical research initiatives.
Job Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience in vascular imaging is required.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of comparable size is essential.
  • Prior experience as a traveling professional is highly desirable.
Work Schedule
  • This role involves full-performance responsibilities as a Vascular Sonographer.
  • Examinations will be conducted in both clinical and hospital environments.
  • Shifts may be assigned across multiple units based on current staffing requirements and organizational needs.
Unit Specific Information
  • Traveling professionals will have priority in floating to units that cater to pediatric patients up to one year of age, depending on their competencies and experience.
  • If the primary unit's needs change during the assignment, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
