Job Title: Audit Manager

KLR is a leading accounting firm in New England, seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Audit Team, you will be responsible for leading client relationships, directing field work, and supervising associates and supervisors.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Direct field work on financial statement audits and accounting engagements, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Supervise and review engagement planning, training, and evaluating associates and supervisors to ensure they meet the firm's standards.
  • Review all work before submission to partners for further review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Negotiate fees and ensure proper billings to clients, maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison among partners, clients, and staff, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate expertise in financial reporting, accounting, and auditing, staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Understand client organizations, procedures, and internal policies, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Own client relationships and work product, taking ownership of client satisfaction and growth.
  • Provide clients with recommendations and guidance on how to achieve their goals, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Work closely with staff, assisting senior management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
  • Foster a team environment, demonstrating support of management and decisions, and building a positive culture.
  • Participate in practice development activities, generating new business and opportunities for cross-services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of technical audit experience in public accounting or a related field, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements, including financial reporting, accounting, and auditing.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability, strong operational and project management skills.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
