Mercy is seeking an exceptional Charge Nurse to lead our Surgical Trauma 3A unit. This is a full-time, 36 hours/week, night shift position. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
About the Unit:
Surgical Trauma 3A is a 33-bed unit that focuses on adult post-operative and trauma patients. Our unit is fast-paced and dynamic, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and clinical skills. As a Charge Nurse, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and work closely with a team of experienced nurses.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and lead a team of nurses to achieve excellent patient outcomes
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Conduct head-to-toe assessments and read and post telemetry strips
- Insert IVs, manage catheters, trachs, and ostomies, and provide wound care
- Manage chest tubes and other complex patient care needs
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a state-approved professional nurse program
- Current RN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri temporary work permit
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification
