CAD Technical Specialist

Cannon USA, INC. is seeking a skilled CAD Technical Specialist to join our team in the Engineering Department.
This role involves creating 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical and electromechanical machines, large manufacturing plant systems, and related piping using SolidWorks software.
The ideal candidate will have experience with modeling, drafting, and detailing, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
We estimate this role will pay around $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical and electromechanical machines, large manufacturing plant systems, and related piping.
- Develop Bills of Material for purchasing.
- Conduct shop and/or field measurements to verify system meets design specifications.
- Successfully complete project assignments on schedule by reviewing project specifications, customer requirements, and project completion deadlines.
- Coordinate and schedule project tasks with Production, Project Managers, and Electrical Engineers.
- Review and verify that projects are within budget.
- Conduct reviews at project completion to identify areas of improvement.
- Travel may be required for training, out-of-state projects, or meetings.
- Understand and ensure compliance with plant health and safety policy.
- Accept responsibility and accountability proportionate to position seniority.
- Discuss project details with project and sales managers to review desired/required functions of machines and equipment and user interface requirements.
- Review schematics with customer's representatives to answer questions.
- Perform other tasks and duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in an Engineering/CAD discipline or Bachelors in M.E.T. or three to five years related engineering experience and/or training.
- Experience with modeling/drafting of electro-mechanical components and assemblies is preferred.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D Computer Assisted Design software (preferred), AutoCAD 2D software, excel and word is required.
- The ability to work independently as well as on a project team.
