About the Position

The Department of Instrumental Studies at the University of North Texas System is seeking qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters.

Job Summary

The Department of Instrumental Studies is committed to providing high-quality music education to its students. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach applied performance lessons and/or ensemble performance in the areas of strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, early music, and instrument repair.

Responsibilities
  • Teach applied performance lessons and/or ensemble performance in the areas of strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, early music, and instrument repair.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the music program.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree in music or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience may be accepted in place of an earned degree.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching instrumental performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Instrumental Studies program.
