Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist Level I to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing complex sonographic procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialty sonographic procedures with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Operate ultrasound scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Ensure the diagnostic quality of all scans through extensive knowledge of ultrasound techniques and disease processes.
  • Make preliminary interpretations of ultrasound examinations to bring areas of suspected pathology to the attention of attending physicians.
  • Assist physicians in the performance of invasive and special procedures.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, including explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment, report equipment malfunctions, and perform quality assurance tests.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure continuous improvement of services provided.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field (RVT Certification Required).
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
