Position Overview:

As a vital member of our wellness team, the Supportive Living Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering personal care to residents, helping them achieve their highest level of functional independence and emotional well-being under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Key Responsibilities:


- Assist residents with daily living activities, including mobility support, personal hygiene, bathing, incontinence care, meal assistance, and supervision as per individual care plans.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities, both in group settings and one-on-one, fostering friendships and community involvement.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents, maintaining tidy personal spaces and adhering to scheduled housekeeping duties.
- Serve meals to residents, promoting balanced nutrition while respecting individual dietary choices, and document any changes in eating habits for supervisory review.
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional conditions, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain accurate resident records in compliance with company policies.
- Adhere to established safety protocols, including infection control and emergency procedures.
- Respond promptly and positively to all requests for assistance, including emergency situations.
- Report any complaints or concerns regarding resident care to the appropriate management personnel.
- Participate in wellness meetings and training sessions to ensure adherence to regulations and best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents and staff.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
- Competence in writing basic correspondence.
- Capable of making routine decisions based on established guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with elderly populations.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Previous experience in assisted living or memory care settings.
- Familiarity with dementia and related conditions.

Education and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screening, TB test, and physical examination.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling and feeling objects.
- Capability to reach with hands and arms.
- Effective communication skills, including hearing and speaking.
- Visual acuity for monitoring residents.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
- Regular interaction with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
- Potential for occasional weekend, evening, or night shifts as needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
- Risk of injury associated with lifting and repositioning residents.
