Position Title: Store Floor Supervisor

Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting To: Store Manager

Role Summary: The Store Floor Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure the store operates smoothly while emphasizing customer satisfaction, fostering associate morale, delivering training, and driving sales growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant retail experience is required.
  • Completion of the National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of employment.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining adequate associate coverage across departments and help with scheduling and timekeeping.
  • Monitor associate performance and ensure adherence to company policies, including dress code and paperwork completion.
  • Provide feedback to the Store Manager regarding associate performance evaluations.
  • Identify projects and oversee their completion.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer preparation.
  • Act as a liaison between management and hourly associates.
  • Perform tasks typically assigned to associates across various roles.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and needs.
  • Operate the cash register as required.
  • Support store maintenance tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with strong spreadsheet analysis skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and operational manuals.
  • Competence in basic mathematical calculations, including discounts and percentages.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting principles for accurate record maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tasks is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to mentor and evaluate associates, recognizing underperformance and providing coaching.
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong listening skills, and an approachable demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs., with occasional lifting of over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain manual dexterity for operating equipment.

Work Environment: The work is primarily conducted indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced, with regular deadlines and performance expectations.
