About the Role

Duke University Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing a variety of routine and complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tests in clinical laboratories using standard techniques and equipment
  • Process patient samples for testing using appropriate identification techniques and written procedures
  • Operate manual or computerized instrumentation and calibrate and maintain instrumentation according to standard operating procedure
  • Communicate problems/issues to appropriate individuals and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology required
  • Minimum educational or experience requirements may be modified on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the CLIA director if minimal CLIA requirements are met by the employee for the tasks being performed
