Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Operating Room Assistant to provide support to our surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. As an Operating Room Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and handling medical equipment
  • Participate in pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative patient care activities
  • Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and effective communication
Requirements

To be successful as an Operating Room Assistant, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Surgical Technology or a related field; 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • 6 months of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
