About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with departmental and professional standards.
As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitor patients receiving invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and conduct regular assessments to evaluate patient progress.
You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient response to respiratory therapy
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery and aerosol medication delivery
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification or equivalent
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date
