Job Overview

This position is field-based, and candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the primary city. The hiring level will be determined based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives to meet or surpass expectations.
  • Develop pre-call planning objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to enhance sales effectiveness. Skillfully address objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to secure actionable outcomes during every sales interaction.
  • Proactively strive to understand and meet customer needs and expectations, fostering trusted relationships to create mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and its clients.
  • Formulate and implement a call strategy that meets established metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales potential.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and product expertise, sharing this intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to ensure alignment and adaptability to market changes.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with assigned healthcare providers and identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in sales with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Possesses comprehensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge, recognized as an expert resource by relevant stakeholders. Strong business acumen and proficient in utilizing business tools; exhibits strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Effectively identifies customer styles and behaviors, adapting sales approaches accordingly to develop effective strategies.
  • Functions effectively within a matrix organization.
  • Proposes innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
  • Influences peers and is regarded as a credible and respected resource among colleagues. Fosters collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
  • Leads by example, consistently demonstrating positive behaviors and providing peer coaching in dynamic environments. Proven success in leadership roles with increasing responsibilities at the district, regional, or organizational levels.
  • Preferred: A successful track record in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas. Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing is preferred. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required for non-English speaking countries.
