Position Overview

Location: Needville, TX

This role entails the daily operation, upkeep, and repair of a landfill gas collection and processing facility. The position operates under the general oversight of a Facility Manager, with performance evaluated based on the achievement of established objectives and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of a landfill gas (LFG) collection system and delivery pipeline.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, gather samples from LFG wells and the gas collection system, and make necessary adjustments to enhance well flow.
  • Collect samples of oil, water, wastewater, gas, and air for analytical purposes.
  • Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols specific to the company and project; participate in monthly safety audits and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records, including logbooks, filing systems for drawings, instruction manuals, spare parts inventory, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist and supervise contractors working on-site.
  • Operate a motor vehicle and/or off-road vehicle on undeveloped terrain.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to analyze issues, develop solutions, and recommend effective alternatives.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including call-outs outside regular hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous military experience is advantageous.
  • A technical degree or certification in an electrical or mechanical field is preferred, or equivalent experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with gas compression and/or gas transportation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrument control systems, including motors, blowers, controls, and pumps.

  • Reach with hands and arms, and hold objects as necessary.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for shifts lasting 8-14 hours, including traversing long distances, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
  • Hear conversations (in person or via two-way radio) in noisy environments.
  • Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Meet vision requirements for this role, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work conditions may include outdoor environments during all seasons, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme temperatures. Most work occurs near a municipal solid waste disposal facility, with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
