Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, responsible for the thorough cleaning of dishes, utensils, and cookware; assists in food preparation as directed; maintains cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and food storage areas; disposes of waste and refuse; and performs additional tasks as necessary.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
(This position may not encompass all duties listed, nor do the examples cover all tasks that may be performed.)


Ensure all dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, and related food preparation/serving items are washed according to established sanitation and safety protocols, including operating commercial dishwashing equipment; inspect, dry, and store all cleaned items properly to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service.


Prepare foodstuffs and ingredients for cooking by peeling, coring, chopping, and cleaning as instructed by the sous chef, contributing to timely meal preparation and exceptional customer service.


Maintain and operate commercial dishwashers and other cleaning equipment at optimal temperatures, checking and adjusting as necessary to meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.


Promptly clean spills and debris from floors and work surfaces, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.


Regularly empty waste receptacles and dispose of garbage in designated refuse containers during the shift to maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.

Carry out other assigned duties as needed.
