We invite you to become a vital part of our team at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center of Kearney. We are looking for dedicated individuals who excel in a dynamic setting and are committed to providing outstanding service to our staff and youth.

As a Culinary Service Associate, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities including food preparation, meal service, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:


- Prepare, season, cook, and bake food items in accordance with menus, dietary restrictions, and portion sizes.


- Train food service personnel in the preparation of simple dishes and in serving, dishwashing, cleaning, and routine equipment maintenance.


- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and oversee the cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.


- Maintain accurate kitchen and dining room records and may assist in ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing food supplies.


- Train and guide youth workers in food preparation and serving, assist with menu planning, and perform administrative tasks related to food service management.



Exciting Opportunity:


We are pleased to announce an opening for our 2nd shift position, which includes a shift differential, providing you with increased earnings for working these hours.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Coursework, training, or experience in food preparation, baking, or kitchen operations within the food service industry.

Preferred Qualifications: 6 months of food service experience

Knowledge Required:

Understanding of kitchen and dining safety practices, special dietary needs, recipes, cooking techniques, food sanitation practices, and proper handling of various food items.



Skills Required:

Effective communication with facility residents and co-workers, ability to train staff, prepare complex recipes, and maintain sanitary conditions.
