Job Overview

ERA Industries is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret customer drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and in-process inspection plans to ensure accurate production.
  • Use measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and thread gages, to inspect parts and ensure quality.
  • Mount and load tooling, fixtures, vises, jaws, and touch off all tooling to set offsets and work zeros.
  • Produce first-piece inspection parts and perform basic troubleshooting of speeds, feeds, tool application, and wear.
  • Train operators to run and inspect parts approved for production.
Duties and Expectations
  • Operate CNC machines safely, producing quality products and meeting production expectations.
  • Utilize CNC programs, set up tools, fixtures, work zeros, and set up machines with first-piece approval.
  • Work with QC to get first-piece approved and in-process inspection plans in place, requesting inspection or setup gages as needed.
  • Mentor operators to properly run production and document inspection, as required.
  • Document work on inspection plans and the ERP system to maintain traceability and records.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Communicate concerns or issues related to production, safety, and quality to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience working on CNC machines.
  • Ability to train operators to run and inspect parts approved for production.
  • Basic measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and test indicators.
  • Calibrated measuring equipment, with the ability to notify quality department for calibration if necessary.
  • Awareness of quality policies, procedures, objectives, and contribution to conformance of product, safety, and ethics.
