Job Title: Certified Addiction Counselor

New Progressions, LLC is seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor to provide professional therapeutic intervention and assessment services to individuals in need of crisis intervention, counseling, and therapeutic services.

Job Purpose:

Provides substance abuse counseling services, including assessment, treatment planning, long-term counseling, psychoeducation, case management, advocacy, and follow-up.

Duties:
  • Conduct evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and reports.
  • Work with physicians and other personnel to evaluate and treat clients.
  • Assist clients and families through individual, group, family, and/or couples therapy.
  • Provide services to restore clients to optimum social and health adjustment.
  • Perform intake, evaluation, orientation, admissions, treatment planning, counseling, documentation, discharge planning, and referral of substance abusing clients.
  • Maintain case records and urine surveillance system.
  • Assess new intakes to determine presence and extent of substance abuse issues.
  • Develop and document individualized treatment plans.
  • Recommend treatment plans for clients to program managers and criminal justice officials.
  • Refer clients to appropriate treatment modality based on assessment.
  • Collect statistics for reports and prepare required paperwork.
  • Develop and facilitate process groups and educational programs.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and quality monitoring.
  • Participate in continuing education to improve skills and stay current with technologies and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal issues, including client confidentiality and risk management.
  • Exhibit courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with clients, families, and personnel.
  • Adjust to fluctuating client flow, acuity, and operational demands while maintaining quality.
Requirements:
  • CADC-I, CADC-II, or CAADC certification.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Georgia state licensure or certification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health and criminal justice professionals.
