In light of our expanding operations, we are in search of a Senior Accountant to fulfill a hybrid role, balancing remote work with responsibilities at our headquarters. As an integral member of the accounting team, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at uncovering valuable business opportunities and improving the quality of information shared with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Accounting Management: Take charge of the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) across various sales channels. Responsibilities include:
    • Collaboration with the Finance team to maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Reconciliation of sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
    • Calculation of landed costs and management of freight accruals.
    • Coordination with Operations and International Teams to monitor inventory in transit.
    • Leadership in conducting physical inventory counts.
    • Investigation of discrepancies in inventory records.
    • Partnership with Finance and Operations to enhance inventory turnover and optimize working capital.
  • Operational Expenditure Oversight: Serve as the primary contact for operational expenses, managing accounting for key expenditure categories such as:
    • Digital Marketing
    • Warehousing and Outbound Freight
    • Professional Services and Software Vendors
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Lead the reconciliation process for bank and credit card transactions, including:
    • Supporting the selection and implementation of reconciliation solutions.
    • Acting as the main point of contact for corporate credit card inquiries.
    • Management of lease accounting schedules.
  • Data Flow Management: Identify and resolve issues affecting data flows related to order management.
  • Month-End Closing: Prepare journal entries and schedules for month-end closing activities.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Generate reports to meet audit and tax obligations.
  • Process Improvement: Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency during periods of rapid growth.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is an inquisitive, innovative, and analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment. You possess a background in revenue accounting and are comfortable working independently while also valuing collaboration.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with a talent for building cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, agile setting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Residency in the Austin area is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Netsuite, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and physical goods sectors.
