This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Oklahoma Human Services team as a Child Support Attorney. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that children and families receive the support they need.

Job Summary:

The Child Support Attorney will be responsible for preparing and filing pleadings, conducting trials, and negotiating with other attorneys and customers of Oklahoma Child Support Services. You will also provide training and assistance to staff on the preparation of legal documents and ensure their compliance with ethical considerations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file pleadings and trial cases in child support-related hearings in district and administrative courts.
  • Consult and negotiate with other attorneys and customers of Oklahoma Child Support Services.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, opinions of the court, and policy.
  • Train and assist staff with preparation of legal documents and ensure their compliance with ethical considerations.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in the State of Oklahoma, and an active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association. Depending on the level of experience, you may also need two to seven years of legal experience or adjudicative experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in child support is preferred, but not required. If you have a passion for family law and a strong understanding of child support laws and regulations, we encourage you to apply.
