Principal Systems Design Engineer

TEL is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex systems and products.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products.
- Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
- Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
- Develop IO maps, interlock strategies, and identify component requirements for software developers.
- Organize and participate in design reviews of machine improvements and new designs, including FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Manage design staff for engineering projects, monitoring schedules and budgets.
- Provide subsystem design, documentation, and packaging of sub-assemblies.
- Quote engineering labor and material for marketing feasibility.
- Work with high and low vacuum equipment and components, as well as clean room procedures.
- Work with gas and liquid fluid handling systems, including piping, valves, flow control, and measurement.
- Work with gas handling systems, mass flow controllers, and transducers, as well as exhaust system requirements.
- Work with pneumatic and cooling system components and controls.
- Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC), ISO procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEMI S2-0200, SEMI S8-0600, and CE certification is a plus.
- General working knowledge of 3D CAD design tools, such as CREO and Solid Works.
- Experience using engineering analysis tools, such as FEA and CFD, in the design process is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of related experience, or master's degree with 10 years of related experience.
- 12+ years in development of capital equipment, preferably semiconductor wet and/or vacuum process equipment.
- 25% travel.
This is a largely sedentary role, but some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds, and spend 4-6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
