Aquatic Lifeguard Job Description

Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, this position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of swimmers and guests at the Kroc Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing swimmers, preventing accidents, enforcing regulations, and providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to guest inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure the pool area is clean and safe, and report any hazards or maintenance issues to the Aquatics Manager.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations, and provide guidance and instruction to guests as needed.
  • Participate in emergency response and first aid procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the aquatics program.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguard Training.
  • Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance, and pass a 200-yard swim test in under 5 minutes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and staff.
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced aquatic environment, with frequent exposure to water and potential hazards. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
