Ritter Center is currently seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner. This full-time, exempt role reports to the Director of Clinical Compliance. Below is the comprehensive job description.

Position Description:

Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Compliance and Chief Medical Officer, the Family Nurse Practitioner will conduct evaluations and provide treatment for patients in both outpatient and community settings. Responsibilities include assessing medical needs, developing care plans, and addressing acute and chronic health issues, as well as preventive health measures. Patient evaluations may encompass emotional, mental, and social aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary care provider for a designated group of patients.
  • Perform in-office procedures such as incision and drainage, arthrocentesis, nail removal, skin biopsy, pap smears, and cryotherapy.
  • Maintain a productivity standard of at least 10 patients per in-clinic day.
  • Be available for on-call duties as scheduled by the Clinic Manager.
  • Possess knowledge of the MAT (Medicated Assisted Therapy) Program and be willing to engage as necessary.
  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients, employing harm reduction strategies, exploring innovative solutions, and collaborating with clients to enhance their health.
Qualifications:
  • Compliance with the requirement to provide a negative TB test prior to employment commencement, along with full COVID-19 vaccination (unless applying for an exemption) as per the State Public Order for Healthcare Facilities.
  • Valid license to practice in California.
  • Experience or knowledge of working in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Background in serving vulnerable populations, including women and the LGBTQ community.
  • Current DEA Certificate.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Provider BLS Certification (including CPR certification) is mandatory.
  • Medical Spanish is preferred; conversational Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining composed under pressure.
  • Experience in a social service environment; ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
