About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our Google Cloud Storage team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will design, develop, and maintain large-scale software systems that handle massive amounts of data.

Responsibilities
  • Write high-quality product or system development code.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on the best technologies for our projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it to product updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues, debug, and resolve them by analyzing sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++ programming languages or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, storage, distributed systems, or experience with compute technologies or hardware architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis, and resolution, and software test engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
