Job Summary

Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Basic EMT Program
  • NIMS I-700, ICS-100 and ICS-200 - Incident Command Courses
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Basic in the State of Ohio
  • Current, valid Ohio driver's license (VDL) and insurable through Cleveland Clinic's liability carrier
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) HealthCare Provider card
  • Two years of experience driving emergency vehicles as an EMT
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position are; the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move various weights up to and exceeding 25 pounds, pursuant to safely ambulating patients as needed.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
