KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the team lead for the electrical maintenance trades working group, utilizing extensive knowledge in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, structural, locksmith, and plumbing systems to oversee on-site repairs of facilities, machinery, and related equipment.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to team members in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and associated systems.
- Plan and direct the installation or repair of a wide range of electrical equipment.
- Mentor and supervise team members in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify and troubleshoot issues within electrical systems.
- Instruct and oversee staff in performing standard calculations related to load requirements for wiring and electrical devices.
- Train team members in the proper use of various electrician's hand tools and testing instruments.
- Collaborate with section management to develop budgets and monitor the progress of project assignments.
- Contribute to employee evaluations within the section.
- Execute all other job-related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
All employees are required to comprehend and implement the operational, safety, quality, and environmental standards outlined in all relevant plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their roles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily conducted outdoors, although it may also take place indoors in a workshop or repair facility. The role may involve exposure to moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions. Travel to remote work sites may be necessary. Physical demands include frequent bending, stretching, and lifting/carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; anything exceeding this weight requires assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a degree from a two-year accredited technical institution or equivalent training as part of a formal apprenticeship program. A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience is required, demonstrating journeyman-level proficiency in one or more building trades (Mechanical/Electrical/HVAC). Current knowledge of hand tool usage is essential, along with a working understanding of technical terminology related to various electrical and mechanical systems. Basic computer skills and familiarity with applications software for record-keeping are necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Travel may be required, and candidates must be eligible for government security clearance and possess a valid state driver's license.
