Job Overview

Caterpillar Corner Childcare seeks an enthusiastic and responsible individual to fill a part-time Classroom Support Specialist role. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to Lead and Assistant Teachers, communicate effectively with families, actively supervise children, and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Lead and Assistant Teachers in their duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns.
  • Actively supervise children during playtime, engaging them in activities and promoting their development.
  • Maintain the classroom in a clean and organized state, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
  • TB skin test.
  • Willingness to receive Certification of Completion in blood-borne pathogen training.
  • Willingness to receive Certification of Completion in CPR and First Aid training.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Discipline and Counseling
  • Teach and enforce classroom rules of conduct and behavior, promoting self-control and cooperation among students.
  • Maintain order in the classroom and on the playground, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist in maintaining the classroom in a neat and clean manner, reporting any needed repairs or maintenance to the Teacher.
  • Counsel students when emotional or academic problems arise, using positive and developmentally appropriate methods.
  • Supervise student drop-off areas, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
